A Superior Invitation
V:4 N:129
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
Romans 6:15-18
We should not abuse grace, and we should not embarrass God in front of all the celestial world by running after other lovers on this earth. We have the opportunity, given through God’s grace and mercy alone, to accept a covenant offered by God that is similar to a marriage proposal. He has made the offer and the provisions through Jesus Christ to cross the tracks, since we live on the wrong side of the tracks. Through Jesus Christ, we can approach the throne, and we have the opportunity to be employees of the most powerful CEO in the universe.
What do you do to chase down the best mate… What do you do to get the best job… Well, open your eyes: you’ve been offered both! No longer run after other things – run after God. That’s how to accept grace and no longer continue in sin. It’s that simple! Accept His kind proposal. Put your hands to the plow and do NOT look back. Paul was saying that you are a slave to either sin or obedience, and you used to be a slave to sin, but now you are a slave to doing right, or righteousness. Read Psalm 119 today and see how the psalmist LOVED to fully obey God. I continue to grow happier and happier each day as I follow the same path.
