They Demanded What They Craved
They willfully put God to the test by demanding the food they craved. They spoke against God, saying, “Can God spread a table in the desert?” …They did not believe in God or trust in his deliverance.
Psalm 78:18-22
How do you pray? We should never demand things from God in our prayers! Read Psalm 78:18-33 to see what happened when the people demanded certain food in the desert. Do you want your children groaning and demanding something different every time you offer them the meal you’ve prepared? Look at the birds…they sing and appreciate what God provides and they do not demand anything different from Him. Our forefathers sinned by demanding the food they craved instead of being appreciative of what God had provided. Do you crave more food…or a different marriage, job, body, house, car, income, closet, etc.? When you pray, are you always craving, demanding, longing and yearning for the wrong thing…or frustrated with God because He hasn’t provided your demands? Turn this around — long for God instead. Do not crave anything but this sweet relationship with Him.
