Love For God First

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love (FOR GOD), I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
1 Corinthians 13:1

 

Before you continue, read ALL of 1 Corinthians 13 and add “For God” every time you see the word “love” – just like in the verse above. Now…think about what you did yesterday, and answer these questions:

  • Did you look out a window and praise your Father first thing in the morning?
  • Did you seek His word or guidance via His Holy Word? Did you fulfill His Word by doing His will for you yesterday?
  • What did you do yesterday in regard to your eating? How about last night?
  • What words did you say yesterday?
  • Was every action and deed prompted by God?
  • Whom did you help yesterday?
  • Was yesterday built around yourself and YOUR kingdom…or did you truly live to glorify God’s Kingdom?

    It all boils down to love for God FIRST – all day long – that is all that matters. If you did not have love for God in the things you did, then you are nothing. You have not added to your eternal existence and soul – you have taken away from it. Make investments every day in the right direction. Love God and His House first. All other motives and goals will gain you nothing.
