The Fear of the Lord

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
Psalm 111:10

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. I love and fear Him more each day. Each time I am in God’s Word, I am convicted to love more or do more or change more. I appreciate the stories of those who walked before us and received correction so that I do not have to repeat their mistakes. If you have no concern for laying down your offensive ways, if you have no worries about your overweight condition or your overeating or your continual sins, if you cannot get your mind off yourself and you make the day center around yourself…then you are offensive to God. But do not rage at God – just turn from pampering yourself and being overfed and unconcerned. No one owes you anything! This very short life lets us know that we are no gods and we cannot save ourselves. You have only this moment in time to submit to THE God. Find love for Him today and fear the God that was there in the beginning and will be there in the end. It is your only hope.
